Larry Van Someren: Owner

Larry Van Someren has been an active Naperville resident for the past 32 years. He was the owner and president of Air-Rite Heating and Cooling for 25 years. Larry sold that business and pursued his passion of building custom homes of the highest quality. Together, with his sons, he formed Charleston Development Group. Charleston Development Group has built custom homes all over the Chicagoland Area and is the exclusive builder and land developer of Jefferson Estates of Downtown Naperville. He now oversees daily operations at Casa by Charleston.

Erik Van Someren: Owner

Erik Van Someren grew up in Naperville and graduated from Benet Academy and later Miami of Ohio University. After receiving his bachelor's at Miami of Ohio, Erik started his own insulation company, which is still successfully operating today. Erik joined his father and brother to form Charleston Development Group. He has been project manager and has designed many of the custom homes built in Jefferson Estates as well as other homes in the area. At Casa by Charleston, Erik oversees the company's financial operations and acts as onsite project manager for the remodeling division and custom home division.

Adam Van Someren: Owner

Adam Van Someren grew up in Naperville and graduated from Benet Academy. He attended Purdue University where he received his bachelor's in Management. Adam first started working at Toll Brothers as a construction project manager overseeing home building in Barrington and Hawthorne Woods. He joined his father and brother when Charleston Development Group was formed. Adam has overseen and designed numerous multi-million dollar home projects in Jefferson Estates. Now at Casa by Charleston, he also oversees the daily operations of the company as well as acts as onsite project manager for the remodeling division and custom home division.

Jim Durr: Sales Manager

Jim Durr is Casa by Charleston's Sales Manager and joined us after many years in the financial services industry and management consulting. A graduate of Northern Ilinois University, with post graduate studies in corprate finance, Jim held various management positions in credit, sales and strategic planning with CitiGroup, Fleet Boston, and Bank of America. In addition, Jim founded a successful small business servicing the cycling community in Naperville and the surrounding area. A long time resident of Naperville, Jim brings his knowledge of the community and decades of business experience to help the company's clients find the right housing solution for them.

Barb Turner: Showroom Manager

Barb Turner has resided in the Fox Valley area most her life. She attended Western State College of Colorado and later earned her bachelor's from Aurora University. Barb settled into the construction industry over twenty years ago, working Sales in Model Homes, assisting clients with their selection process as well as overseeing financial operations. She brings years of experience in every aspect of remodeling, new construction and decorating. Currently, Barb enjoys overseeing the showroom at Casa by Charleston including organizing events that are held there monthly. She is also involved in the day to day financial operations of the company and enjoys being part of the Casa by Charleston team.

Nicole Weiland: Design Manager

Nicole Weiland received her bachelor of science in Interior Design from Illinois State University and has been working at Casa by Charleston for the past six years. While at Casa by Charleston, she has become known for her creative color concepts and her organized design approach and has had her work published nationally. Her design knowledge has allowed her to become an expert on designing within a project budget. She enjoys working with clients one-on-one and has a keen eye for detail. Nicole's clients praise her for thoughtful design concepts and her thorough project approach.

Alicia Svarkonis, AKBD: Design Consultant

Alicia Svarkonis received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Architecture from Columbia College Chicago. She is a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) and is a certified Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer (AKBD). Alicia showcases her passion for design in all forms of residential interiors such as kitchen and bath remodels, new custom homes, additions and whole house renovations. "My goal for every project is to design my client's vision while uncovering all of their wants/needs and presenting them with not only a customized solution but a stunning new space!"
